Robust Biometric for Enhanced Verification

The move toward digitalization is revolutionizing how individuals access their data and perform monetary transaction activities online. Despite the promise of digital transformation to drive business initiatives, security issues such as identity fraud and theft continues to be a primary cause of concern. Against this backdrop, what organizations need is a robust solution that can verify the legitimacy of a user. While organizations look for better ways to secure end-user identities, Pradotec Global comes to the rescue with its robust authentication solutions powered by biometric technology.

The company designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of biometric authentication devices and smart contact cards for various industries, such as law enforcement, banking and finance, and logistics to name a few. “We have the expertise and experience required to serve our clients with value-added services such as hardware aesthetic design, mechanical design, and PCB development,” says Michelle Lee, group chief strategist and business development director of Pradotec Global. Through constant innovation, the company is continually upgrading its products with multiple features aimed at addressing clients various operational and deployment needs.

“Our latest offering is BCR230BT, the world’s first biometric reader that can function as a standalone unit,” says Michelle. BCR230BT is Bluetooth-enabled and can be connected to any android or iOS devices. Incorporated with a built-in contact card reader and fingerprint sensor, BCR230BT stands out as the most portable biometric device in the industry. And to further enhance the device’s capability, Pradotec Global intends to incorporate a camera into the BCR230BT to facilitate scanning features such as iris and facial recognition, and QR code scanning enabled by artificial intelligence algorithms. Pradotec Global also focus on cybersecurity features that protect personal identification data from cyber-attack, and the incorporation of security layer such as tamper switch feature to protect biometric template and authentication key in the hardware. Pradotec’s biometric device portfolio facilitates multi-authentication methods and has advanced features—especially in the area of unmanned kiosks to fulfil the requirements of self-service processes. The company’s biometric devices also support mobility, which has allowed them to penetrate into many private industries to perform biometric verification and authentication on-the-go.

Illustrating the mobile capabilities of Pradotec’s biometric solutions, Michelle mentions the case of a Malaysia-based conveyancing lawyer who had been facing issues with identity fraud when handling property sale transactions. With Pradotec’s biometric solution, the lawyer was easily able to perform verification and identification of a signatory on the spot before proceeding with a sale. The biometric solution assured all parties—banks, lawyers, and property developers involved in the transaction the identity and authenticity of individuals effectively. Today, Pradotec has deployed the biometric solution in more than 50 legal firms.

In another instance, Pradotec Global collaborated with a partner to develop a comprehensive visitor management system (VMS) with open gate configuration access control. The unmanned VMS register visitors via its electronic identification document feature that can extract personal data directly from a Malaysian ID card. Upon completing registration, the VMS issues a QR access code via mobile (or print). To enhance the experience of seamless access, Pradotec installed a contactless biometric scanning system to complement the open gate configuration for prompt clearance and quick access. This system enabled the building management to monitor and analyze visitor data with accuracy and ease.

Through several such partnerships, Pradotec Global will continue to develop solutions in the area of advanced multi-biometric authentication technology and hardware designed to support cloud computing. Looking ahead, the company aims to expand its service offering with project management capabilities to help clients oversee and execute any deployments associated with authentication devices. Alongside, Pradotec plans to aid security solution providers with its expertise as an original device manufacturer in hardware development. The company is also strategically located to serve the growing demands from South East Asian countries for digital identification solutions. With its comprehensive offerings and expertise, Pradotec serves as a trusted partner that guides clients to achieve holistic results when implementing biometric solutions.
